Wooden toy horses and soldiers of the Prussian field artillery (German Empire, c 1900).
These horses and soldiers are missing a limber, a transport wagon, and a gun. Horses, carts and soldiers on horseback were a common sights in the streets until World War I.
This toy was thus a reflection of everyday life. At the same time, however, toys such as this taught small children about the prominent social status of the military. These soldiers are presented by the Dresden Bundeswehr Military History Museum.
