Dark days in Germany: SA stormtroopers of 30s

The Sturmabteilung (SA) was the Nazi Party's original paramilitary wing. It played a significant role in Adolf Hitler's rise to power in the 1920s and 1930s. The SA officially ceased to exist in May 1945 when Nazi Germany collapsed. The SA was banned by the Allied Control Council shortly after Germany's capitulation. Some German makers of toy soldiers (e.g. Elastolin and Lineol) produced composition toy soldiers depicting SA members..
