Elastolin Kriegsmarine

The Elastolin Kriegsmarine was represented by a "personality" figure of Großadmiral Erich Raeder saluting, marching officers carrying swords, sailors carrying rifles, marching fanfare trumpeters (Fanfarenblaser) and flag-carriers (Fahnentrager) and a short set of combat figures. There are two basic sets of marching figures -— one set wears the blue winter uniform and the other wears the white summer uniform. Complete sets of marching musicians were produced for both of the seasonal colors. There are also marching sailors wearing white shirts and blue trousers.

Durso Chasseurs Alpins (1940) and the Médaille militaire (Military Medal)

The Médaille militaire is a military decoration of the French Republic for other ranks for meritorious service and acts of bravery in action against an enemy force. It is the third highest award of the French Republic, after the Légion d'honneur, a civil and military order, and the ordre de la Libération, a Second World War-only order. The Médaille militaire is therefore the most senior entirely military active French decoration.

These composite Chasseurs Alpins were produced by Durso (Belgium) in 1940.

Pak 36 German artillery battery

This is my battery of Pak 36's  - German anti-tank guns of a 3.7 cm caliber. It was the main anti-tank weapon of Wehrmacht Panzerjäger units until 1942. These toy Pak 36's were produced by Lineol and Hausser/Elastolin in 30s. The Lineol gun (the gun on the left) represents  a more accurate scale model in terms of its compatibility with 7.5 cm composite soldiers produced by Elastolin and Lineol. The both Pak 36 guns are using caps (amorces) for firing !

Thompson Graving Dock in Belfast

The construction of Thompson Dock started in 1903 and was completed in 1911. The dry dock was the largest in the world when completed and was used primarily for ship repairs.(Titanic Belfast Museum). Remaining in use until 2002, and now re-opened to the public as a visitor attraction, Thompson Dock saw many ships pass through, the most famous of course being RMS Titanic. Following the liner’s launch from the slipways on 31st May 1911, she was warped into the dry dock for fitting out before departing Belfast to set off on her maiden voyage in April 1912.
