German traditional Bergmann wooden figurines

A Bergmann figure is a traditional Christmas decoration that is today made by the Erzgebirge craftsmanship in Saxony. The motifs of this Erzgebirge wood art have a close connection to mining and the mining working and living environment. Classic products are figures of miners , nutcrackers , Christmas angel , candle arches ,wooden caterpillars , smokers , music boxes and wings pyramids . To date, they are mainly manufactured entirely by hand in small craft businesses by wooden toy makers.
