Joshoin Temple Devoted To The Russo-Japanese War
This is a temple located in the mountains on the east side of Okabe-shuku. The main temple houses 223 wooden statues of soldiers and sailors built to memorialize the heroes who died during the Russo-Japanese War (Feb 8, 1904 – Sep 5, 1905) from this area and is also known as the "Hyotai Temple". Wooden statues were created in the Meiji era based on photographs of the died heroes, and their facial expressions and costumes are completely different.
Photos are sourced from Tokyo Fox.

Belgian soldiers with flamethrowers
I think that the best soldiers with flamethrowers were produced by Belgian makers of composition toy soldiers - Durso and Solido.
At these photos you can see 2 Durso flamethrowers and 1 made by Solido (the sitting figure). The barbed wire obstacles ("Spanish rider" or "Knife rest") are
my own DIYs.

Saturday Night: Elastolin parade
Elastolin produced several versions of Reichswehr/Wehrmacht composition soldiers standing at attention (stillgestanden). These musicians and the flag bearer are quite rare figures today. The marching marshal with sword is Werner von Blomberg.

How to display vintage military toys ?
Vintage military toys can be great complements to a display of authentic relics such as this WWI-era Marklin toy submarine and a 1930s Elastolin toy of Admiral Raeder displayed with a WWII German Navy dagger.
Please see the full article about military toys collecting here.

Elastolin Wehrmacht cavalrymen 🐴🐴🐴🐴
These Elastolin Wehrmacht cavalrymen are quite common and well preserved till our days.
It is also strange that this common figure is not presented in any Elastolin catalogues as far as I am aware. In 30s similar composition cavalry figures were also produced by other German toy soldiers companies: Schusso, Strola and Leyla.

Haselbach’s tin figures
J.C. Haselbach of Berlin (1848–1900) was a plrolific maker of 40-50 mm tin figures. He entrusted the engraver Wildt from 1848–55 with the care of a large number of his moulds, reputedly between 5,000 and 6,000. Of particular appeal was the parade of Frederick the Great, displaying the most popular units of that army. He also made European soldiers, Thirty Years’ War and the Crusades, battles in India and Mexico, the Battle of Woerth-sur-Sauer (Franco-Prussian War) and the Crimean War.
This tin knight (H:12 cm) with movable arms and visor was probably produced by Haselbach around 1860/80.
