WW1/WW2 German reporting dogs 🐕 🐕🐕
In Germany in the 20th century, a dog that delivered military messages was called a reporting dog (Meldehund). Reporting dogs were service dogs. It was the task of the reporting dog in the First and Second World Wars to maintain the connection between two posts. The reporting dog brought the military news in a capsule, the so-called reporting capsule, which was fastened to its neck. Messenger dogs also transported carrier pigeons in harnesses specially made for this purpose. Messenger dogs were used to deliver messages because they were a smaller and more mobile target than messengers or vehicles. Nevertheless, they too were shot at and killed. More than 30,000 war dogs during World War I were used as messenger dogs.In many cases they were also recruited by private individuals.

WW1 Manz soldiers
German company Manz manufactured composition toy soldiers from 1914. 75mm composition figurines in half-round bumps represent soldiers of belligerent armies and their uniforms at the beginning of the World War 1. The soldiers stands are almond-shaped and unmarked. This brand ceased its production after 1918. I have some Manz soldiers representing Russian army.

Panhard 178
The Panhard 178 (officially designated as Automitrailleuse de Découverte Panhard modèle 1935, 178 being the internal project number at Panhard) or "Pan-Pan" was an advanced French reconnaissance 4x4 armoured car that was designed for the French Army Cavalry units before World War II. It had a crew of four and was equipped with an effective 25 mm main armament and a 7.5 mm coaxial machine gun.
A number of these vehicles were in 1940 taken over by the Germans after the Fall of France and employed as the Panzerspähwagen P204 (f);[for some months after the armistice of June production continued for the benefit of Germany. After the war a derived version, the Panhard 178B, was again taken into production by France.
My wooden Panhard 178 was produced in France in 1946. Some Durso and Solido 7cm composition commando soldiers.

WW2 Red Army composition marines from GJ (Belgium)
The great unknown? GJ brand raises many questions. GJ produced 7cm composition soldiers in Brussels from 1935 -1950. GJ would be the initials of the Belarusian sculptor who made figurines for Belgiamn “cheap” retail stores.
GJ figurines produced after the war by the founder of GJ no longer bear the GJ mark under the base. The GJ figurines produced after the war are recognizable by the very particular style of GJ, high quality of sculpture, beauty of the colors.

Delft tiles 17th Century/18th Century
The Delft potters from the Netherlands made tiles in vast numbers (estimated at eight hundred million) over a period of two hundred years; many Dutch houses still have tiles that were fixed in the 17th and 18th centuries. Delftware became popular and was widely exported in Europe and even reached China and Japan. Chinese and Japanese potters made porcelain versions of Delftware for export to Europe. This collection of Delft tiles is presented at the Casa-Museu Frederico de Freitas (Funchal,Madeira).
