Lineol FAD and RAD composition soldiers ⛏️⛏️⛏️
The voluntary labor service (the Freiwilliger Arbeitsdienst- FAD) was a publicly funded employment program introduced in 1931 by the German Government of the Weimar Republic. The state sponsored FAD provided services to civic and land improvement projects.
Finally, with the law of June 26, 1935, the Reich Labor Service - Reichsarbeitsdienst(RAD) came into power. The RAD concept was to create a state labour service organisation similar to the Reichswehr army, with a view to implementing a compulsory service.
RAD was initially only compulsory for young males between the ages of 18 and 25, and at the beginning of the Second World War also for young women. With massive financial support by the German government, RAD members were to provide service for civic and agricultural construction projects.
In 30s, Lineol produced 7cm FAD (left) and RAD (right) composition figures. I have these two interesting Lineol figures armed with spades.
