Railways of Soviet Russia during the Russian Civil War (1917–1923)
During the Russian Civil War of 1918 to 1922, military operations across the vast Russian frontier tended to follow the thin network of rail lines interspersed throughout the countryThe front line between the Red Army of the revolutionary Bolshevik government and those of the so-called White movement of counterrevolutionary forces moved back and forth, with towns and districts moving from the control of one group to the other.
At these photos, I have put together Belgian Durso composition soldiers produced by Michel Klimov and composition soldiers from other makers: GJ (Belgium) and Durolin (Germany). If you are curious about railroad wagons, I have photographed the old German tinplate ones from Marklin and Bing (Gauge 1: 1/32).
