Elastolin DLV composition figures

The German Air Sports Association (Deutscher Luftsportverband or DLV) was an organisation set up by the Nazi Party in March 1933 for training of military pilots. Its chairman was Hermann Göring and its vice-chairman Ernst Röhm. Since the Treaty of Versailles officially forbade Germany from building fighter planes of any sort, the German Air Sports Association used gliders to train men still officially civilians for the future Luftwaffe. The DLV was dissolved in 1937 and replaced with the NSFK - National Socialist Flyers Corps, a corporation under public law and subordinate to Reichsluftfahrtminister Göring. Elastolin produced DLV figures from 1934 to 1939. The Elastolin catalog numbers of the presented solders (from left to right) are 30/658/12, 30/658/52, 30/658/3 and 30/658/14.

Gonio/Kaden VW Type 82 Kubelwagen

Gonio was a Czech manufacturer of tinplate models. The company was based in the small town of Trhove Sviny in the South of the country and is best known for a series of 1/24th scale military vehicles from World War II issued in the early 1990s. These 1/24 models are made of tin with plastic parts and are very detailed with opening parts, accurate decorations and realistic proportions. The range included the German VW Kübelwagen and Schwimmwagen, but also vehicles from the Allied Forces such as Dodge WC51 and WC52 and Willys Jeep MB. In 1991, shortly after the fall of communism, but before the split between the Czech Republic and Slovakia,Kaden company took over Gonio, the Gonio models remained in production, and several civilian versions of the Dodge and the Jeep were added to the range.Apparently, however, Kaden has ceased producing the Gonio range.
