π§π¬⚔️π·πΊ WW1 Bulgarian and Russian 8.5 cm infantry produced by Lineol
Lineol (Germany) produced its 9 cm(8.5 cm) series of composition soldiers from c.1910 to 1932.
Unlike in the later figure scales of Lineol figures, in which Russians and Bulgarians are among the rarities, figures of both nations are rather more common in the 9 cm (8.5 cm) series. This certainly depends on the participation of both countries in the World War 1 together, with Russia being one of the important war opponents of Germany, while Bulgaria fought on the side of the Central Powers. The figures of both nations were probably mostly only sold during the war in Germany (1914 - 1918). For the both nations, Lineol consistently used a head with a peaked cap in all scales. The figures can only be distinguished by the colour of the uniforms. Russians have green uniforms throughout, the Bulgarians usually have uniforms in brown tones, which varied slightly over time.
The Battle of Dobrich took place between 5 and 7 September 1916 between a joint Bulgarian-German force, consisting mainly of the Bulgarian Third Army, and a Romanian-Russian force, including a Division of Serbian Volunteers serving under the Russian 47th Corps. The battle was part of the Romanian campaign. It ended with a Central Powers victory.

Elastolin Eisenbahn Figuren ππ€π
Elastolin produced a line of more than 30 civilian figures for use with toy trains (Eisenbahn Figuren). This line included DRB (Deutsche Reichsbahn) workers, station workers, Schupo policemen (Schutzpolizei) and passengers. These figures were produced primarily in 7-cm (NormalgroΓe) although some were also available in 5-cm (6-cm) and 3-cm sizes. I have some 6 cm Elastolin railway figures.
