Visiting the Mémorial 39-45 at Saint-Malo (France) 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🏰🏰🏰💥💥💥

Created in 1994 by the City of Saint-Malo for the 50th anniversary of the Liberation, the Memorial is installed in a set of bunkers built by the German army, from the autumn of 1942, in the courtyard of the former fort of the Cité d'Alet (fort of the 18th century).

The SS Division Hitlerjugend or 12th SS Panzer Division "Hitlerjugend" was a German armoured division of the Waffen-SS during World War II.[4] The majority of its junior enlisted men were drawn from members of the Hitler Youth, while the senior NCOs and officers were from other Waffen-SS divisions. The League of German Girls (Bund Deutscher Mädel (BDM)) was the girls' wing of the Nazi Party youth movement founded in 1930, the Hitler Youth (Hitler Jugend). It was the only legal female youth organization in Nazi Germany.With the surrender of Nazi Germany in 1945, the organization de facto ceased to exist. Rudolf Hess was a top Nazi official and close associate of Adolph Hitler who shocked the world in the spring of 1941 by flying a small plane to Scotland, parachuting to the ground, and claiming when captured that he was delivering a peace proposal from Germany.
