The Ww2 German Army (Heer) was represented by Elastolin parade ground composition figures that included marching and standing musicians. Elastolin also produced musicians mounted on horses.The series of Elastolin Heer musicians included also quite intersting figures: the Soldier marching with large jingling johnny ("Schellenbaum") (0/47/28) and the Bass drummer marching with drum wagon pulled by a dog ("Königsberger Paukenhund")(0/47/21).There is also an interesting figure of the Mounted Kettle drummer (0/445/32).

This Wehrmacht Feldwagen 750/2 ½ with rubber wheels was manafactured by Hausser(Elastolin) from 1937 to 1939. The wagon has a spare wheel and equipped by two horses.

In 30s Hausser(Elastolin) established branches in Vienna and Brno under the "Duro" brand. These composition Dutch cavalrymen were issued by Duro Austria.

GAZ-67 and PGH-Effelder NVA soldiers

The GAZ-67 and the GAZ-67B (from January 1944) were general-purpose four-wheel drive Soviet military vehicles built by GAZ starting in 1943. By the end of the war, it was the Soviet equivalent of the World War II jeep. PGH Effelder (DDR) composition NVA soldiers from 50s/60s and a modern wooden model of GAZ-67(China).

5th Alpine Division "Pusteria" 🇮🇹🗻🏔️🐪🫏🇪🇹 mountain gun team with mules and camels

The 5th Alpine Division "Pusteria" (Italian: 5ª Divisione alpina "Pusteria") was a division of the Royal Italian Army, which specialized in mountain warfare. During the Second Italo-Ethiopian War, the Pusteria embarked in Livorno and Naples from 6 January 1936 for its transfer to Massawa in Italian Eritrea. From there the division moved to Macallé in Ethiopia and entered combat at the end of January. The division played a primary role in the Battle of Amba Aradam and the Battle of Maychew, and participated in the Second Battle of Tembien. On 5 May 1936 the division entered the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa. Composition Alpini soldiers produced by Confalonieri Chialu(Italy) in 30s/40s.

T34 tank crew from PGH Effelder

These four composition tank soldiers were supplied by PGH Effelder (DDR) to increase the playing value of the T34 produced by Ankerwerken, MSB in 60s. They were apparently only sold together. The photographed model of T34 is a modern wooden DIY toy from China.

Elastolin Schutzstaffel (SS) figurines

Elastolin composition soldiers of 30s were a reflection of their time, the political side of Germany also had to be included thus Hitler's street thugs, the S.A.("Sturmabteilung"),the S.S. ("Schutzstaffel"), the Reich Labour Corps ("Reichsarbeitsdienst"), the Hitler Youth("Hitler Jugend"),the girls section ("Bund Deutsche Maedchen") were all available. The S.S. were well represented, marching with torches, musicians on foot or horse, with all the Nazi flags, banners and standards. There was no official encouragement of the manufacture of these politically based figures, but the political climate was such, that not to have produced them, would have quickly brought about official displeasure and on a commercial plane, a loss of sales.

Hausser/Elastolin 788/2 Twin AA Machine Gun Trailer 🌩️🌩️🌩️ 💥💥💥

This rare horse drawn anti-aircraft unit produced by Elastolin is a good model of the real item (7,92 mm Zwillingssockel-36) used extensively in Eastern Europe in World War II. It is first shown as 788/2 in the Elastolin 1939 catalogue and was sold with postillion, two limber figures and a gunner. The guns are metal and the sound of rapid firing is simulated when a small lever at the back of the trailer is turned. A leg drops to support the trailer on its own. There is a canvas brass catcher curtain suspended beneath.
